Guys, how would you feel if your girlfriend wanted you to play video games less?
Question by krista: Guys, how would you feel if your girlfriend wanted you to play video games less?
Many times I’ve called, my boyfriend tells me “I’ll call you back in 5 minutes, let me finish this video game,” and will call an hour later.
Once, he put me on hold for “5 minutes” I waited 40 minutes, yelled into the phone, hung up 5 minutes later. Three hours later, he calls: “I totally forgot, I got so caught up in this video game..”
Soon he will be late for dates, due to this immature video game obsession. We’ve been together for a year and a half, and he had never been into video games up until recently..
He is 22 years old. Is it time for me to tell him he needs to set his priorities straight? Guys, how would you feel if your girlfriend wanted you to cool it a little? Not stop, just play LESS.

No. That’s like… telling girls never to put up any make up anymore. Games are like… well, some guys drink beer, some use drugs, and we, gamers, slackers and nerds alike, need games. It’s like oxygen to us !! You are a hard woman !
Seriously, games are harmless. Tell him about it, but if he gives in he is not a real gamer at all.
EDIT
And for the record, I’d feel as if she doesn’t love me, and it’d be better if the relationship was over.

How to remove games off of my Sony Ericsson C903?
Question by Jordan: How to remove games off of my Sony Ericsson C903?
It’s irritated me that in 2009/2010, networks haven’t moved on from charging people for games when they can still get them for free. There’s no way i’m going to pay £5.00 for tetris on my phone. How do i remove these “games” that i have already on my phone, as they just lead me to websites where I can pay, they’re securely locked on there, but surely there is a way?
I can get for free*

they don’t charge you for the ‘games’ being on your phone without you buying them.

Q&A: iPod touch games?
Question by Hanlajkemfrmof: iPod touch games?
Ok I’m sure this has already been answered but I want to be sure. The other day I updated iTunes and it showed me the updates and it said it was making their new game “phase” compatible with the iPhone. Is that true? If it works for the iPhone than can it work for the touch? I absolutely love my ipod touch but
I would really like games on it if possible. Thanks!
Yeah I’ve used the web apps but I wanted a game you could play anytime even without internet. Thanks anyways though!

I’m pretty sure you have to do it via wifi. You know the apps on the apples download site for the touch?
http://www.apple.com/webapps/
The info thingy says:
It’s easy to browse web apps and select and organize your favorites. Just visit www.apple.com/webapps on your iPhone or iPod touch (iPod touch requires a Wi-Fi connection). Browse the library, and when you find one you like, tap the link and try it out. If you like the web app, be sure to bookmark it for quick access later.
But I wish I could get games by syncing it, my wifi doesnt work
Good luck though.

Q&A: Cell phone games…..?
Question by Beth: Cell phone games…..?
If anyone has a verizon razor, i was wondering how long the “Subscription” is on a cell phone game. When i go to “GET IT NOW” on the menu then i click “GET FUN AND GAMES” then i click “GET NEW” and if i choose a game i like it tells you the subsription price and the unlimited price. I have never got a subscription game only an unlimited one. So i was wondering if it went my how long you play, or a month, or number of uses?

ColecoVision to iPhone Games 24
In this ongoing look at significant moments in the history of video game design, we have already taken a look at Bungie’s Halo & Halo 2, Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls series, Nintendo’s Metroid and several others. The goal of this series is to go beyond simple gaming magazines and iPhone Apps reviews, and take a closer look at what defines memorability and quality in game design. In this twenty-fourth part of the series we will examine some more of those classic moments where video game designers undoubtedly got it right and delivered a memorable, enduring and progressive gaming experience.
Developed by Electronic Arts (EA) and released to the PS3 in late 2008, Mirror’s Edge is the first parkour based video game of all time. Parkour, or free running, is defined as “physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one’s path by adapting one’s movements to the environment.” While this type of gameplay may seem difficult to implement into a video game, the developers of this title had the clever idea to make the main character, Faith, a sort of courier who is constantly being chased by the police, private security forces, and other baddies of assorted variety, depend on movement in order to succeed. This theme puts Faith in a position where she must be constantly on the run from the well armed enemies aiming to cut her down as she completes her missions. Her only option is to keep up her momentum, stay mobile and use her environment to her advantage as she tries to evade their attacks.

The aspect of Mirror’s Edge that we will highlight in this article is not the engaging gameplay, the bright and sharp graphics, or the precision gameplay. Instead, we will focus on the bold choice made by the developers to put the game into the first person perspective. Interestingly, just about anyone who has played Mirror’s Edge will likely agree that the title would have worked perfectly well as a third person game. In fact, a popular mod for the PC version allows the game to be played in just that fashion. However, the first person perspective is absolutely the way in which this game must be experienced.
Much of the gameplay in Mirror’s Edge involves the building of momentum. As Faith gains speed, she also gains the ability to perform longer jumps, trickier moves and more chained actions. When performed in the first person, this style of gameplay offers a level of immersion that is seldom matched in the realm of gaming. Few moments in gaming history can match the exhilaration felt when the player successfully completes a section of Mirror’s Edge on their first try. That, however, brings us to one of the constant complaints gamers have about this title…the sometimes unforgiving difficulty. While the game is not one that would be considered difficult in the grand scheme of things, certain sections can sometimes border on controller breakingly difficult. While a rushed development cycle and a late decision to stick with first person throughout are the main culprits for this difficulty, these challenging sections are just a part of an overall experience that is incredibly rewarding and consistently fun from beginning to end.
For being the first video game in an exciting new genre, using a perspective that was courageous and truly added to the gameplay, and providing an experience that cannot be had in any other game, Mirror’s Edge will forever be remembered as a classic.
